Earth Day 2002 Day of Service

On Saturday, April 20, the Lehigh Valley Group celebrated Earth Day with Service at Jacobsburg State Park. We were joined by members of the Bushkill Stream Coalition and the local Boy Scouts.

We began the day with coffee and doughnuts and a lesson in the local ecosystem.

Then it was time to get dirty. Some of us worked cleaning out the Hummingbird Garden.

Others of us spent our time pulling non-native invasive plants.

And when we were done, there were piles of weeds and trash along the trail waiting to be picked up.
