You can make tracks for change by running or hiking in this 5K (3.1 miles) trail race! Running or hiking in this event will show your support for the environment and the plight of polar bears, the most well-known victims of global warming.
The Sierra Club-Lancaster Group, a non-profit organization, works to protect the environment. All funds raised by this event are used for environmental cleanup and education programs within Lancaster County. Funds raised in this year's event will support various educational and outdoors initiatives, including the Group's ongoing effort to weed and nurture some 100 trees that it planted in 2013 as a riparian buffer along Mill Creek in Lancaster County Central Park.
This fun trail run/hike will wind through scenic Lancaster County Central Park. All trails are well-maintained with some hills. Since the race is in January, be prepared to run or hike in snow. Bring a dog, if you wish, to join in the merriment.
Race Details: The race begins and ends at Kiwanis Lodge, located on Kiwanis Dr., just off Eshelman Mill Rd.
Prizes: Prizes will be awarded to the overall top three male & female runners and the top three male & female runners in each age category. The first three finishers with dogs will also receive prizes.
$20 if received by January 8, 2015. Pre-registrants, if they desire, will receive a t-shirt.
$25 after January 8 or on race day. T-shirts not guaranteed for these registrants.
Race Check-In/Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. on race day.
