The Sierra Club - Lancaster Group will be participating with a booth at this family-friendly event that showcases numerous local organizations and their green innovations. Sahd Metal Recycling is located at 1045 Lancaster Avenue, Columbia.
Be sure to stop by and say hello. Our education booth will focus on water-quality issues, a top priority of the Lancaster Group. Bagzilla and Bottlina will be on hand to demonstrate the need to reduce, reuse and recycle. We also plan to have our mystery box of good environmental practices available to those who want to learn how to explore, enjoy and protect the environment. And, there will be giveaways.
For more details, or if you'd like to volunteer, please call Jane Druce at 569-1516 or email her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
This is a perfect opportunity to view a variety of environmental displays, get free information, and meet representatives from local conservation organizations, including the Sierra Club - Lancaster Group. We'll also have a display at the festival, which will be held in Manheim Township's Overlook Park, across from the Manheim Township Public Library.
The festival will include children's activities, speakers and workshops, a native plant swap, and live native wildlife. Plant experts also will be there to answer your questions and you'll also be able to purchase plants. For more details, please visit www.habitatmt.org, view the festival flyer, or contact Jane Druce, chair of the Sierra Club - Lancaster Group's Education Committee, at 569-1516 or email@example.com.
Join our Group members and other Sierrans as we observe the Great PA Cleanup with the removal of garlic mustard and other invasive plants in beautiful Landis Woods Park. The park is situated just off the Lititz Pike south of Neffsville.
People who participate are asked to wear long pants and long sleeves due to the prevalence of poison ivy. We'll be removing plants that can easily be pulled or dug out with a trowel. And these reminders: Please bring garden gloves if you have them and dress for the weather.
Manheim Township Parks & Recreation volunteers also will be involved in this cleanup--with some projects located near the stream. Sierra Club participants should meet leader Steve Heim at 8:30 a.m. near the park amphitheater, where they will sign a waiver of liability. For more details, contact Heim at (717) 205-6353 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Visit https://www.manheimtownship.org/Facilities/Facility/Details/Landis-Woods-Park-10 for park information.
