Welcome

The Lancaster Group is the newest group of the Sierra Club's Pennsylvania Chapter and is committed to supporting all issues and programs related to improving and enhancing the environment, through educational outreach and other activities.

Monthly public group meetings are held on the third Wednesday of every month (except July) and generally begin at 6:30 p.m. Meetings are held in room 111 of Lancaster Country Day School, 725 Hamilton Road, Lancaster, PA (unless otherwise noted) and are open to both members and non-members of the Sierra Club.

Boat Tour of Chesapeake Bay

Saturday, June 1, 2013 - 7:45 AM

Join us as we travel to Baltimore's Inner Harbor for a three-hour boat tour (10 a.m.-1 p.m.) of the Chesapeake Bay with Chesapeake Bay Foundation biologists. Or, simply take the bus to spend the day enjoying Inner Harbor sights. Seating is limited; first-come-first-served.

Girl Scout Outdoor Day at Camp Furnace Hills

Sunday, June 9, 2013 – 9 AM – 4 PM

Volunteers are needed (S.C. - Lancaster Group members only) to lead or help with our Education Committee's water wonders presentations, which are scheduled for various time periods and are among the day's numerous activities for scouts. These activities are not open to the public.

Sierra Club Monthly Meeting

Serpentine Barrens Hike

Join us for this trek through the Serpentine Barrens in Rock Springs Nature Preserve in southern Lancaster County near the Maryland border.

Sierra Club Pennsylvania Chapter Outing/Camping Weekend

Friday-Sunday, July 12-13-14, 2013 - various times TBA

Sierra Club members from around the state will gather for a weekend of fun and camaraderie in scenic Susquehannock State Park in southern Lancaster County. There will be camping, hikes, field trips and speakers, among numerous other activities.
