Announcing a new event for Sierra Club -Bucks County PA! What: Tyler Park Hike When: Sunday, March 25, 1:00 PM Where: Click the link below to find out! Event Description: Hello Everyone On March 25th (Sunday) we will have a comprehensive hike of Tyler Park. A lot of people don't know what a gem this place is - so here's a chance to find out. Granted, March is not the prettiest time of year, however - with the leaves gone - certain views are revealed that can't be seen in Spring/Summer. I will be guiding the hike through: 1. Covered Bridge entrance / trail 2. Bluegrass Hill 3. White Pine forest 4. Hay Barn Trail 5. Porter Run brook crossing 6. Spring House (200 years old) 7. Corn field 8. Lunch at Boat launch 9. Dairy Mill trail 10. Deer field 11. Back to covered bridge. Note: The hike back (after lunch) will be much shorter. I would rate this hike's difficulty a 5 (on a scale of 1-10) mainly because of the hills. Depending on stops and lunch, the hike will take between 2 and 3 hours. Dogs are welcome. I'm sure many of you are familiar with the paved trails, but we'll be taking trails that are "off the beaten path." So make sure to bring good hiking boots/shoes since it will be muddy in spots this time of year - sneakers will not cut it. We will meet at the Covered Bridge entrance on Swamp road in Newtown. From Rt 232 (North or South), the Swamp road turn off is in Wrightstown - on the left if traveling South, and on the right if traveling North. About 2 miles down Swamp road, you'll see the sign on your right for the Schofield Ford Covered Bridge entrance. We'll meet in the parking lot at 1 PM and start hiking around 1:15 PM. See you there.
